Asian song Titles messed up
« on: September 28, 2009, 07:44:58 AM »
It needs the ability to reset the title and when adding song lyrics and the song title should not be editable
also it needs asian character support

Hi,

Thanks for using Lyrik  :good:
I didn't understand what you want, "ability to reset the title" and "song title should not be editable" doesnt apply at the same time.
You can edit the song's title when edit the lyrik, and you can use asian characers (lyrik supports unicode). If you're having problems at unicode, try to put your text at some .txt file, save as Unicode (not big endian) and open it on lyrik edition.

See ya,

uhh still not working even though i followed your instructions o.0
at first it looks like it would work but after i upload it and update the song it turns to EEEEEE and other gibberish
maybe i didn't understand the part where i am to open it on lyrik edition
l also tried to loaded the .txt file and it gave me nothing i then changed the file extension and loaded it under .lrk and it still gave me nothing

i even tried manually typing all the characters but it crashes lyrik

the song titles worked originally but once i add lyrics the song title gets turned into E's
i can't even reset the song title back to asian characters which worked before

Hello,

Hmm, can you send-me this song? (the txt file).
Maybe there is some error in unicode function...

Hello,

I don't know why, but here the file opened fine (but all text was in just three lines).

Is this the lyric http://www.jpopasia.com/lyrics/22442/sid/uso.html ?
Copy&Paste worked fine here for the tree lyrics above. Maybe the problem is in the text-box (I used a third-party component for that, so I really doesn't know if there is any possible problem in there).
So what can be done?
1 - Copy & Paste the lyric over a new Notepad window
2 - Click at 'Save As', and select 'Unicode' as Encoding
3 - Save the file as the same name of the music file, example, if the song is 'Sid - Uso.mp3', save as 'Sid - Uso.lrk' (note that is '.lrk' and not '.lrk.txt')
4 - Play the song.

I'm having many problemas at Unicode, is because Lyrik was programmed in VB6 and there are no Unicode support, so I had to do my tricks  :D
I'm planning to rewrite/remake Lyrik in C#, but until 2010 I have a lot of work to do (undergratuating & stuff)

I took a better look at your file, and I don't know why but your line-separator is only the 13 char, normaly is 13-10 (0D-0A in hexa, or 0D-00-0A-00 in hexa & unicode).

In attachment an example of how it must be.

See ya,  :good:

Really strange  o.0
I tested here, no problems... Still searching what can be the problem :search:

Can you post the exactly title & artist (as winamp shows), so I would look at database and verify how is been writing there.

In last case I'll build a debug version and send it to you.

Hmm, DataBase is full of EEE's  =S
The interesting fact is the title "EEE", looks like Lyrik unicode is messed up.

I'm downloading the album wich include this song, and change mine system to Japanese locale.

Until it, try that:
Lyrik > Preferences > First Icon (the three boxes) > Disable the "Use ASM Algorithm injection"
and try again.
